The basic monthly milk bill formula is:
Worked example: A customer takes 1.5 L of buffalo milk daily at ₹70/L in a 30-day month, pauses delivery for 4 days, and orders 2 L extra for a festival. Billable days = 30 − 4 = 26. Total litres = (1.5 × 26) + 2 = 41 L. Bill = 41 × ₹70 = ₹2,870. If they paid a ₹500 advance, the amount payable is ₹2,370.

Multiply the daily litres by the number of billable days (days in the month minus paused days), add any extra litres delivered, multiply by the rate per litre, then subtract any advance paid. The formula is: (daily litres × billable days + extra litres) × rate − advance.
